About the Project

We worked closely with the team at Whanau to create content around founder Steve Hewitt and the wider business. The format we developed with them was something we coined "vlogumentary," a blend of vlog-style filming and documentary storytelling that captured the energy of Steve and the team without feeling overproduced.

Alongside the founder content, we helped film challenges including the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in collaboration with Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital. These were projects that went beyond typical brand content. They had purpose behind them, and the footage needed to reflect that.

Working with Whanau was a great example of what happens when you build a relationship with a client rather than just deliver a brief. The more time we spent with the team, the better the content became, because we understood who they were and what mattered to them.
